Indian Institute of Fashion Technology concludes Fashionite 2022 – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

 

BANGALORE, Nov 26: Indian Institute of Fashion Technology, a Limca book record holder conducted its 19th Fashionite 2022 on the theme ‘Shadow of Style’.
The Annual Fashion Show featured 144 unique ensembles by their talented 73 designers. They were accompanied by 27 models who displayed the outfits on a specially designed ramp at Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bangalore. On the cold evening of 25 November 2022, it was a night of celebration for over 1000 people. The show opened with dignitaries lighting a lamp. The evening was opened by Dr. Gopinath, Rtn.Subhashini (and Sandhya) as the Chief Guests. Mrs. Viji, Chief Academic Office of IIFT, welcomed the distinguished guests, respectable parents, enthusiastic academic trainers and students from the worlds of print media as well as the electronic media world.
Based on criteria such as justice-to-theme, swatch selections and color aesthetics, innovation, silhouettes, presentation of collections with accessories or styling, the jury selected 15 finalists from 73 participants.
The themes of the show were Traditional, Ethnic Western, Indo Western, Greek, Egyptian and Tribal. The use of different colors communicated various messages to the audience. The fabrics used ranged from Velvet, Lycra, Taffeta, Barso, Chiffon, Georgette, Silk, Jersey, Glass Tissue, Brocades, Jute silk, Drill, Netted fabrics & many more fabrics that are in trend, some of the garment designs were highly accessorized with headgears, Handmade jewellery, Handmade Footwear & some of the designs had highly intricate embellishment and surface ornamentation such as Zardozi work, Kundan work, bead work, Aari work, patch work, Quilling, traditional Indian embroideries, painting & printing were incorporated to present trends combining the materials from different states.
The First category of Awards was for IIFT Best Designer of the Year 2022 and was bagged by Surpritha M G, Second category of Awards won by Mr. Yathish S L, ‘BEST FASHION ILLUSTRATOR & DESIGNER’ was won by Niharika B R, Best Designer Award in B.Sc Fashion & Apparel Design was won by Mr.Charlee Vishal L, Second Runner up for Best Designer Award was won Nischitha Y ‘. The next category of award was for ‘BEST DESIGNER-NON TEXTILE and was won by N V Varshini, The Third category of Awards were won by Shwetha H R & Geetha Priya G.
The First Runner up for Best Designer Award was won by Greeshma S for her theme ‘PAITHANI’ inspired by ‘MAHARASHTRIAN TEXTILE’. The second runner up was Sambavi H. The fourth category was for Best Collection. It was won by 5 students Deepthi Bharadwaj and Rashmi S. Maheshwari, Maheshwari, Mamta and Vibha Fashion Designing and Boutique Management.
The ceremony also honored BSc rank holders. The creative displays by their wards and family members left the audience spellbound. It was a treat for the eyes, with models, designers and National Celebrities taking part.
The IIFT Spokesperson said, ‘We are proud yet spellbound by the creativity of our students, we wish them all the best for their future endeavours. They will be the ones to take over fashion, one design at time.
Vote of thanks by Principal of IIFT College of Fashion Seema Savio concluded the show. In recognition of their tireless efforts, all designers received Prestigious IIFT mementos or certificates.
