This week’s recalls are listed below.


This edition of Recall Roundup covers recalls that were announced between Between April 17 and 23, 2023.

Recalls of food and drugs

The recalls include ground cumin and vitamin B. Shrimp, too, is on the list. The information was provided to us by the FDA You can also read about the USDA.

The recalls that don’t impact Michigan include a pretzel recall, curry powder, various Jabsons nut/legume products, HighKey Mini Treats, and a recall of crab dip.

Ground cumin is recalled due to Salmonella presence

Lipari Foods issued a voluntary withdrawal of a lot of Lipari branded Ground Cumin Tubs produced by International Food because of the potential presence of Salmonella contamination.

Salmonella This organism can cause serious, sometimes fatal infections, especially in children, elderly or frail people, and those with weak immune systems. Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella You may experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and fever.

In rare cases, infection can lead to the organism entering the bloodstream, causing more serious illnesses, such as aneurysms infected with bacteria, endocarditis, and arthritis.

BioActive Vitamin B recall due to undeclared dairy allergen

BioActive Vitamin B recalled due to unreported milk allergen. (FDA)

EuroPharma, Inc. of Green Bay, WI is voluntarily recalling its Terry Naturally® BioActive Vitamin B™ 60 count and EuroMedica® Active B Complex 60 count products, because they may contain undeclared milk.

It is possible for people with severe allergies or sensitivities to milk to have a life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

The products that were recalled were sold nationwide in retail stores, by mail order and through direct delivery.

Kawasho Foods USA Inc. extends recall of medium Shrimp due to possible underprocessing

Kawasho Foods USA Inc., New York, NY announces an extension of the voluntary recall that began on February 26, 2023 of canned GEISHA Medium Shrimp, 4oz. To recall now all lots of the product.

Kawasho Foods has taken this precaution out of a sense of caution, as they are concerned that the product may have been under-processed. This could result in the possibility of spoilage organisms and pathogens.

Kawasho Foods decided to make this move after receiving more information from the Food and Drug Administration.

Recalls for consumer products

The recalls include sleepwear, robes and sledgehammers. The information was provided to us by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

DeWALT recalls 2.2 million fiberglass sledgehammers due to injury hazards

The recall affects certain DeWALT FATMAX, Craftsman Fiberglass Sledgehammers and Stanley FATMAX Sledgehammers. (CPSC)
  • Name: DeWALT Fiberglass Sledgehammers, Stanley and Craftsman

  • Hazard: The sledgehammer head can detach and loosen unexpectedly, which poses a risk of injury to the user.

  • Remedy: Refund

The recall affects certain DeWALT FATMAX, Craftsman Fiberglass Sledgehammers and Stanley FATMAX Sledgehammers. The recalled sledgehammers weigh between 2 and 12 pounds and range between 14″ and 36″ in length.

DeWALT’s sledgehammers come in yellow and black. Stanley’s sledgehammers also come in yellow and dark black. Craftsman has a red and dark black sledgehammer. Each sledgehammer is marked with the brand on the handle.

DeWALT, Craftsman and other hammers have their model numbers marked on the hammer heads. On the handle of Stanley hammers, you will find the model number.

NewCosplay children’s sleepwear recalled due to violation of federal flammability standards, burn hazard

This recall involves Changshu Lingshang Trading Co. LTD NewCosplay branded children’s button-up, long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments. (CPSC)
  • Name: Children’s sleepwear

  • Hazard: The recalled children’s sleepwear fails to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

  • Remedy: Refund

This recall involves Changshu Lingshang Trading Co. LTD NewCosplay branded children’s button-up, long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments.

The garments, which were sold in size 5, are 100% polyester with a yellow chicken print. The label on the side seam contains information about the fiber content as well as washing instructions. The sewn-in neck label displays the garment’s size and “NEWCOSPLAY.”

NewCosplay children’s sleepwear recalled due to violation of federal flammability standards, burn hazard

This recall involves Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD NewCosplay branded children’s button-up long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments. (CPSC)
  • Name: Children’s sleepwear

  • Hazard: The recalled children’s sleepwear fails to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

  • Remedy: Refund

This recall involves Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD NewCosplay branded children’s button-up long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments.

The children’s sleepwear are made of 100% polyester and were sold in sizes 4T through 10 years in “Charmander” and “Pikachu” characters. The side seam label contains the fiber content as well as washing instructions. The sewn-in neck label displays the garment’s size and “NEWCOSPLAY.”

Bagno Milano recalls children’s robes due to violation of federal flammability standards, burn hazard

This recall involves “Natura Cotton” branded children’s 100% cotton terry cloth robes. (CPSC)
  • Name: Children’s robes

  • Hazard: The children’s robes fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

  • Remedy: Refund

This recall involves “Natura Cotton” branded children’s 100% cotton terry cloth robes. The robes come with long sleeves and hoods, two front pockets, and two side seam buckles that can be used to tie up the front of the robe.

The colors available were white, gray and cream in sizes from 1 to 13 years, as well as blue, navy and purple. The sewn-in neck label displays “Made in Turkey”, “100% Cotton” and washing instructions.

Lil Anglers recalls children’s fishing rods due to violation of federal lead content ban

This recall involves children’s fishing rods which were sold in a variety of colors including blue, green, orange, pink and red. (CPSC)
  • Name: Children’s Fishing Rods sold with Kid Casters No Tangle Combos

  • Hazard: The fishing poles contain lead levels that are higher than the federal content ban. If lead is ingested, it can be toxic and cause health problems.

  • Remedy: Refund or Replace

This recall involves children’s fishing rods which were sold in a variety of colors including blue, green, orange, pink and red.

The rods are sold as part the Kid Casters No Tangle Combo, which includes a 35-inch inline reel and rod combo, a plastic casting plug and rattle bobber, and a snap-tied snap-swivel. The reel is equipped with 6 lb. line and a gear ratio of 3.3:1. line.

Lil Anglers is offering a full replacement or refund for the recalled fishing poles.

Recalled multi-purpose kids helmets from Walmart due to head injury risk

The Lelinta Multi-Purpose Kids Helmets are being recalled. The helmets came in pink or blue and included elbow, wrist and knee guards. They were packaged in a mesh bag. (CPSC)
  • Name: Lelinta Multi-Purpose Kids Helmets

  • Hazard: The recalled bicycle helmets fail to meet the federal safety standard of the CPSC for bicycle helmets in terms of positional stability. In the event of an accident, helmets may not protect children from head injuries.

  • Remedy: Refund

The Lelinta Multi-Purpose Kids Helmets are being recalled. The helmets, which were available in pink and navy blue, came with elbow guards, wrist guards and knee protectors. They were packaged in a mesh case. The helmets feature black straps with a black-and-red buckle.

The helmets were labeled medium and fit head circumferences between 19.3 inches and 21.7 inches. The model V-1906 is printed on an inside label of the helmet.

The helmets have been recalled and should not be used. Contact Lucky Global to receive a refund. Lucky Global will contact all known purchasers.

Recall on youth inline skating due to potential fall hazards

This recall concerns Rollerblade Fury Black/White or Fury G Black/Pink inline skates for youth. (CPSC)
  • Name: Rollerblade® Fury Inline Skates and Rollerblade® Fury brake supports

  • Hazard: The brake support of inline skates may fracture or separate. This can decrease user stability and increase the risk of falling.

  • Remedy: Repair

This recall concerns Rollerblade Fury Black/White or Fury G Black/Pink inline skates for youth.

The skates are available in three sizes: 12J-2 (for children), 2-6 (for adults) and 5-8 inches. “Rollerblade” is printed on the frame of the skate, on the wheels and on the power strap. On the tongue label of the skate, you will find SKU number FURYB BKWH07067000787 OR FURYG BKPK070671007Y9. The Fury brake supports, distributed as service parts, are also covered by this recall.

Recall of fresh water well pumps due to electric shock risk

The water pumps that were recalled are used to maintain water pressure in freshwater wells. (CPSC)
  • Name: DynaDrive Freshwater Well Pumps

  • Hazard: Pumps are not grounded properly and could cause electric shocks to users.

  • Remedy: Repair

This recall is for DynaDrive Pumps that have model numbers DD60-10NPT or DD90-11NPT, and serial numbers between 190791000 to 223365720.

Water pumps are being recalled for their use in stabilizing water pressure in freshwater wells. These pumps have a single phase to three phase variable speed control integrated. The pumps feature a yellow metal canister mounted on a stainless steel casing with an aluminum-coated electric motor.

The black controller has a product identification sticker on its side that displays the model and serial numbers of the unit.
